More Music 101

Now I’ve bought these CDs last year but only got to REALLY listen to them recently. This is to show you that I am not very partial to hard rock *cough*. Here goes…

  • DEF LEPPARD
  • Considered as hard rock, heavy metal

This group is pretty cool. Not very old school, really. Their song, “Two Steps Behind” is probably their most famous song. They could be upbeat and rock on, and then they could be very mellow and relaxing. I like the balance. For a while I thought the lead singer sounded like Alice Cooper. The songs I like the best are “Action,” “Long Long Way to Go,” “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” and “When Love and Hate Collide.”

  • SWITCHFOOT
  • Alternative rock, post-grunge, power rock

What can I say? I really dig this group! So the entire “Oh! Gravity” album is in my playlist.

  • BJÖRK
  • Electronica, Alternative, Trip hop

I first discovered her through a college crush who was into her music. I checked her out and ended up liking the songs “Venus as a Boy,” “Bachelorette,” and “Hunter.” But in entirety, her music still sends goosebumps all over my body. I am still not used to her style of singing. It is haunting in a disturbing/discomfiting manner. And yet I still keep some songs from her albums VOLTA and MEDULLA, so sue me.
