Inktober 2019
It is indeed that time of the year again when the inks are out and the 31-day challenge to draw according to the prompts provided by Jake Parker throws everyone in unity and peculiarity at the same time, bringing to the world a plethora of drawings drawn out from every artists’ imaginations. Inktober is here, and I am participating once again in order to — this time around — try out a style inspired by the exceptional Kim Jung Gi, cartoonist extraordinaire!
It is only Day 5 so there are still 26 days to go. I will only be using a Pentel brush pen, but I will introduce the occasional ink washes now and then to add value to some of my drawings, but I feel more inclined to use it less and just stick to the limitations of a brush pen.
Anyhow, here are the 5 drawings I’ve done, and you will notice that the background’s color here is somewhat pinkish compared to the ones I have posted on my Instagram art page. This is because the pinkish tones are the paper’s original color before color-correcting it with a filter. I am keeping the pink-toned ones for record-keeping and posterity sake.
I hope you’ve enjoyed viewing. Do check back on this site for more drawings in the coming weeks! Ciao!
